When life gives you lemons, transform them into a bright and beautiful citrus themed wedding! Traditional colour palettes are timeless; however, colourful citrus wedding palettes are on the rise and trending; they’re all over tiktok, pinterest & Instagram. This trending theme for 23/24 weddings mimics citrus colours incorporating coral, orange, peach, yellow & pink hues into the décor. Some often elaborate on this theme and include summer sunset colours with pastel shades like lilac & cornflower blue accents which help mellow out the look for a refined take on the colour palette.

Infused with love, this theme is the perfect inspiration for the summer bride with a love for colour. It has such a fresh, vibrant & romantic feel that uses pops of colour while still being ultra-sophisticated throughout all elements of the decor. Think along the lines of a table laden with citrus fruits, candles & stunning floral arrangements. At More Production we have a huge stock of colourful products and the ability to offer bespoke design so we can incorporate these colours through aspects such as the furniture, draping, glassware & trees.

Colourful Furniture Hire

One way to include this colour scheme throughout your wedding design is to choose colourful lounge furniture which can be used in your bar or chill out areas. We have various shades of orange, peach, yellow & pink leatherette seat pads available to hire which attach to our bench & cube seats. These look stunning when paired with our rustic or white rustic furniture ranges.

Now, what’s a summer wedding without a refreshing drink? Our bespoke furniture design services mean we can create personalised bar fronts that tie in with your theme & colour palette. This could be a printed foamex fascia with a custom floral illustration, initials, or a quote in wedding colours or a coloured stencil printed on our whitewashed pallet bars.

Colourful Wedding Drapes

If you’re looking to add a pop of colour into your ceiling design, we creatively transform rooms into beautiful settings by installing ceiling drapes and personalising with accents of colour. Drape over entrances, dancefloors, aisles, or reception areas for the perfect wedding decor. Coral and light pink voile drapes intertwined will create a sense of whimsy. Rob & Amelia’s wedding at Greenwich yacht club, which is pictured below, featured coloured drapes that reflected the sunset they see every night from their apartment overlooking the yacht club. Although slightly bolder than the colour scheme covered in this blog, it’s still a fun and cheerful colour palette which is an out of the box wedding design!

Bright Wedding Tablescape

Colourful glassware will take your tablescape to the next level, this includes candlesticks, votives & glasses. We have dusky pink votives, teal pillar candles and gold candlesticks which would look beautiful paired with citrus tapered candles. Our votives, vases & candles could also be used to line aisles alongside pretty flower arrangements.

Add fresh, fruity details with artificial or real fruits like oranges, lemons & grapefruits. These are not only in keeping with the theme but add a unique, zesty element to the décor. Place fruits & flowers in white apple crates & under our clear acrylic cubes for the perfect table dressing.

Citrus Floral Arrangements

Capture the citrus tones in the stunning floral arrangements with summer blossoms, incorporated with every element of the theme. From bouquets and table centres, to backdrops, aisle décor and more. The flowers are a key contributor to nailing this theme and bringing all décor elements together. Our good friends at Hybrid, one of London’s top florists, have given us some insight into considerations when planning a colourful wedding, along with some stunning photographs from colourful flower arrangements they have created for weddings & events. Caroline, Director at Hybrid says:

When we design a colourful wedding concept for a client our focus is on creating impact and how to achieve a vibrant look. Usually the client has a colour palette in mind and their venue and the date of the wedding will then be enough for us to really go to town and offer wonderful flower combinations. Thankfully the seasons enable us to rein it as it is the seasonal availability of the flowers which is the key to making a colourful wedding magical, nostalgic and very, very beautiful.

We always work with the seasons. We start the year with spring flowers and yellow blooms such as freesia, mimosa, and forsythia and really make any of the other spring flowers just leap from a vase.

For summer, the seasons give us larger blooms appear such as hydrangeas, in bold pinks, blues and purples, roses in pinks, reds and orange and peonies in coral, cerise and yellow are fabulous. That’s not to say that smaller flowers in shades of white and cream and light green foliages cannot be added to designs to create that wild style summer vibe to vibrant flowers.

For autumn, fabulous vibrant flowers such as dahlias and nerine are just stunning and the colours from peach, pink, and magenta are amazing. These can be added to rich orange physalis and marigolds and along with texture and movement given be amazing grasses.

And for winter time, you can have a luxury style colourful wedding. With flowers such as amaryllis in pink, red, burgundy and orange and if you are lucky the vibrant tulips start to arrive again!

We always work with the client to work out the impact and atmosphere they wish to create with the flowers. Aisle décor can start with two pieces at the beginning of the aisle to set the theme and then focal pieces at the altar or alternatively, bright flowers can be used to make the most amazing avenue for the wedding party to walk down with flowers growing from the floor upwards.

The ‘altar’ is key as it is something to frame the ceremony and colourful flowers here set the theme for the wedding day. These can often be used later in the day also during another part of the wedding reception.

Tables look fabulous with a collection of bud vases displaying key vibrant flowers which works particularly well with a mix of vibrant blooms at different heights. Larger, fuller designs can be used for tall table centres or you can have a mix of shorter arrangements (just make sure people have clear sight lines over the top of flowers) and with tall pieces on alternate tables. Or why not mix them all up on long tables?!

Top tip. Choose vibrant table linen if you can or at least make the napkins one of the colours within your colourful floral palette. It looks amazing.

Focal pieces are exactly that, arrangements for focal areas. And bright flowers go a very long way to create impact and drama. Taller blooms such as delphinium, foxglove, blossom and beautiful open gladioli are amazing for this along with the shorter blooms to give weight to designs. Vases can be very simple as these are not the key to the designs. The flowers will do all the talking!
